Relocating soon!!!!

Hello everyone!Sorry for not posting on a more regular basis, that will all be changing in the very near future. The family and I have decided to relocate to the Savannah, Georgia area in the next few weeks.  This will be an exciting time in our life as it will be a great opportunity to live in a new city.  This is a huge move for my husband and son.  After living in Arizona for the past 19 years it is definitely time to be closer to the ocean. We are getting so exciting about the new experiences.  I will keep everyone posted on our progress and the exact date of the move.

Along with getting ready for our big move I already have started making my Christmas presents and already have four (4) of them completed.

Vacation Travel

I have been planning a trip to Savannah, Georgia to visit with my dearest girlfriend for several months now.  Tomorrow is the day we are off on our cross-country trip.  We will be driving from here clear to Savannah, with a stop in Dayton, Tennessee to visit with my parents, sisters, nieces and nephew.  I am so excited.  Kyle and Tommi have graciously agreed to stay at the house and take care of Jasper, Maggie (my four-legged furry kids), MK (Kyle's bearded dragon that runs free around the house) and the goldfish (that let you pet them if you stick your hand in the water).

I will post our adventures and what knitting projects I am working on as we go.  I am currently working on a baby hat.  I am also taking the yarn and pattern for the Hitchhiker pattern by Martina Behm.  My trusty laptop and Nook are also getting packed in the car for this trip.

New seasons

Well, it is the beginning of the autumn season and we still have very warm temperatures here.  While it is still in the high 80's and low 90's I am still working on my Christmas presents for my nieces and nephews.  In fact I have a new niece that was just born on September 6th.  She looks adorable and I cannot wait to meet her next month when I go visit my parent in the lush green state of Tennessee.

As we begin this wonderful season  I also get to enjoy the fact that my daughter will be turning 21 tomorrow and she is so excited.

I am also working on a few projects that I will be donating to a local event that is taking place here in lovely Kingman on October 20th at the Eagles Club called "A Hair Extravaganza: Honoring Woman Affected by Cancer".  This event is being put on by Get Wiggy With It and Your Cut Above the Rest.  I was going to assist with the event however, I will be out of town visiting my parents.  I cannot wait to hear how successful it was once I return to town.

It has been ages

I know that it has been ages since my last post.  Life has definitely gotten in the way over the past year.  However I am back and will add to my blog on a regular basis.

What am I working on now.  Well I decided that I did not want a repeat of the holiday season last year when I started my Christmas presents the weekend of Thanksgiving and still had to figure out what I was going to make and make sure that they were sent out and on time for Christmas morning.

I have started my gift making early and I already have four gifts done.  Now I only have about 12 more to do.

Newest project

Well I have been commissioned to create window scarves for my hairdresser.  She was quite excited to find out that I could create knitted and crocheted items.  We have been working together to figure out exactly what she is looking for and the colors that she would like to have to accent her beauty shop.   It will be quite a fun project for me to do this week.   Once all are done and in place I will share with everyone.

What I am working on currently

Well it has been another week.  I have managed to finish knitting a scarf.  I crocheted a jellyfish as part of a test pattern.  I am currently working on a mystery project that is arriving in multiple clues.  I have clue one (1) completed, just waiting for clue two (2) which will be given on Wednesday.

I have signed up to do a Dr. Who swap with other fans.  I received the name of my partner today. I cannot wait to start working on this.  I will be looking for fun projects to knit for this.

I will post pictures of my jellyfish and scarf (after I block it) soon.

First posting

I have noticed that when I am out knitting in public how many people find it fascinating that people still knit.   It is my opinion that it appear that knitting and crocheting is a dying art that your younger generation has no interest in.

A group of my girlfriends and I knit on Thursday evenings at Mohave Community College-Neal Campus Kingman from approximately 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
